MAC Superslicks

Wanted to brag on my new favorite thing.

When we were in Dallas, Q & I went to the MAC pro store in Northpark. There, I picked up 2 of the new eyeliners from the Fabulous Felines collection: the metallic pewter & the matte black Superslicks. They seemed to be very long wearing, which is what I need in my liquid eyeliners.

You see, up until now I'd been trying every different gel, liquid, or cream eyeliner I could get my little hands on. They all had one of two problems: 1) They would separate and flake off, or 2) they would transfer into the crease of my eyelid, where the liner touched when my eyes were fully open. They ALL did one or the other: L'Oreal Lineur Intense looked amazing at first, and then it never failed to flake by my 10th hour of work. Makeup Forever waterproof eyeshadow applied with a liner brush: it transferred into the crease. Sephora cream eyeliner transferred. MAC Liquid Last flaked. It was MADDENING.

They told me at the Pro Store that this one would last, and from the demo they did on my hand in the store, I had half a mind to believe them. Besides, the Superslicks come in some really great colors. The pewter would be perfect for when I didn't want a heavy black.

In short: I'm in love with them. They wear every bit of 12 hours and longer. In fact, if I don't rub my eyes in my sleep, they'll stay on until I wake up (found this out by accident). When they dry, they don't dry OUT. They maintain a bit of flexibility. It's almost as if they dry to a very thin rubbery substance, which is the way they come off, too. Do you remember that old nail polish that used to come in little girls' dress up kits? It didn't require nail polish remover; it would just peel off in a single piece. That's the way this eyeliner comes off. If you rub it, it peels up into little blobs which are easily plucked off your lashes or whatever. It sounds weird, but that very weirdness is what allows this stuff to stay on the eye. It is completely dry to the touch so it cannot transfer, but it is flexible so when your eyelid moves, this stuff moves with it.

I like it so much that when I was in Memphis yesterday, I decided to pick up two other colors. In addition to the pewter & black, I now have the purple & bronze (sort of a khaki green) ones as well. I still think I'd like to get hold of the blue, too. I can't get enough of these little things.
